Larkin into Further Education

Within Larkin Community College, we have a scholarship for academic excellence, made possible by partnership with the Irish Youth Foundation. The LIFE scholarship is only available to students already enrolled in Larkin.

The LIFE scholarships are awarded to students who meet certain academic criteria based on the following:

* Homework

* Attendance

* Classwork

* Punctuality

* Application

* In-house exam results

* State exam results

* Teacher reports

Students on the scholarship receive a cheque at the end of each term, depending on their progress. The LIFE students have the opportunity to visit universities and colleges, and can avail of mentoring programmes with the help of third-level students through the Slí Eile programme. Through the LIFE programme, we hope to increase participation by students from the north inner-city in third-level education.
