Library News From Week Beginning 11th of February 2019 (10)
Reading Challenge Week 4
The class still in the lead at the moment is Class 102 - Ms Gavin and Mr Moorhouse’s class. Great work. However if you’d like to win a pizza party for your class there’s still 3 more weeks of reading before the Reading Challenge ends on World Book Day. Everyone make sure to check out your books for midterm today
Accelerated Reader 100% Wall
We had to expand our 100% Wall as there’s been so much quizzing going on since the Reading Challenge started. Well done to Clayton, Desmond, Tyra and Brooklyn who each won a Centra voucher in the 100% draw.
Student Book Club
This took place before school on Thursday 14th of February.
The next book we will be reading is Holes by Louis Sachar. There are copies available from Jenny in the library so try to collect it before the mid term so you can begin to read it over the break.
Over the next while we will be taking part in the Children's Books Ireland Shadowing scheme - where we will cast our votes for the Book of The Year. Sarah Crossan has a new book out in May and Angie Thomas' new book is out this week. We also hope to watch the film of her last novel 'The Hate You Give'.
Please let your friends know and bring them along to the next SBC on Thursday February 28th.
The rules of book club are:
