Library News From Week Beginning 30th of September 2019 (19)
Inktober
ANYONE CAN DO INKTOBER,
JUST PICK UP A PEN AND START DRAWING.
Every October, artists all over the world take on the #Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day. Some just do it once a week. The point is to share your art with someone - on social media, with a friend or even on your fridge.
Our students have been working on their art and there’s lots of beautiful work coming in. We’ve got an Inktober station in the library with prompts in several languages. We have made an exhibition space in our library for students and staff who are happy to share their work and some of these will go towards a larger exhibition of work from other JCSP Libraries in November.
Instagram #larkinlibrary
Our Library is taking part in an Instagram #BookChallenge. Student volunteers have been running our Instagram stories this week and have been posting about, Inktober, Library displays, new sports books, books being checked out and day to day activities. Thanks to Mansi, Alex, Anamaria, Arianna and Zinedin for adding stories to @larkinlibrary2019. Challenges for next week will include book spine poems/messages, seasonal reads and #BookBento.
Staff Book Club
We had a great turnout at our Staff Book Club today. This term we have decided to read a selection from the following list: Educated, When all is Said, A Keeper and The Colour of Larkham’s Murder.
