Dracula Visits Larkin -Thursday 25th October
As part of the Big Scream Festival, all 1st year students were visited by Dracula! The 1st years had been reading an abridged version of Dracula during Library class in preparation.
Actor David Herlihy entered the Library in character as Count Dracula, he told students about Bram Stoker and his life and ties with the area and he spoke to students about the Big Scream Festival.
Staff Book Club
The Staff Book Club was held on Friday 26th October during lunchtime in library. We discussed The Hate You Give, which has just been made into a movie and also The Long Gaze Back and Swing Time. Between now and Christmas Larkin Staff have chosen to read a selection from the following recommended titles: Milkman, Who Moved My Cheese, All Quiet on the Wedtern Front, Goodbye to all That and The Periodic Table.
Romeo & Juliet
Ms Creighton’s 3rd year students doing an excellent job of acting out Romeo and Juliet Act 1 during Library Class.
Italian Picture Books
First year spent their final Italian class of the term reading picture books to each other in the school library over some chocolate biscuits.
