Library News September
This year we are sharing the library space with Mr Poole, who is full-time
EAL in Larkin this year so please be aware that he will have classes in the library too.
Library classes for 1st - 4th years are all up and running - we’ve been focusing on STAR testing and ensuring everyone has access to and can use the JCSP Digital Library on Sora and we started lending physical books last week.
All staff and students have free access to the JCSP Digital Library on the Sora App. Just email us if you’d like your login details.
Lending physical books is a much slower process
than before so not everyone has one yet. There’s a selection of Grab and Go World Book Day books inside the library door on left which do not need to be checked out or returned if you
need an emergency book.
Although we are not allowing general browsing yet, staff and students are welcome to search the Library OPAC and
ask/email us if you have any requests or we can choose a selection of books for students. All books to be returned to the quarantine boxes.
Every October, people all over the world take on the #Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day. Some just do it once a week. The point is to share your art with someone - on social media, with a friend or even on your fridge. Last year we had an Inktober station in the library and an exhibition space where students and staff shared their work. A selection of student work went on to a much larger exhibition. Eros was the overall National winner received a fantastic art set as a prize in September. Manish and Elaine also received prizes.
This year, we will publicise it and share art on our Library Instagram, Twitter & the school website. So if do a drawing based on one of the daily prompts do send a photo to us. See prompt list here.
Well done to all the students who received their JCSP Profiles at the celebration in the library on September 15th. We had a wonderful morning celebrating your achievements! Keep up the great work!
Huge congratulations to our Student of the Year, Patrick Conway who received his award today at the JCSP Graduation! What a fantastic achievement Patrick! Well done!
