Library News Week Beginning 2nd October 2018 (17)
Teen turn
Almost 50 girls turned up during break time on Thursday for the presentation of participation certificates and references for the girls who did Teen-Turn internships over the summer. They chatted with each other and future participants over coffee and donuts about their different places of work and what technologies and projects they worked on. One student even received a gift from her host company of a MacBook Air as a thank you!

New Books!!!
We have had several book deliveries this term. Some of these may interest students, their siblings, their parents or school staff. Here are some of our latest displays. Our library also has access to Overdrive, our JCSP digital library which contains over 4,000 titles.
We had the pleasure of hosting Phil Kingston, Head of Community and Education in The Abbey Theatre for the first of this term’s Fireside Chats in Larkin Library.
Phil spoke about the adaptation of Louise O’Neill’s novel
ASKING FOR IT into a sold out play in The Abbey Theatre next month, which our TYs will be attending. He spoke about theatre in Shakespearean times and the significance of studying Romeo and Juliet.
Writer and actor Phil gave an inspirational talk and we were all fascinated by his life story and how resilient and motivated he was and how he went about turning his life around to become so successful.
