5th Year FDTS Class Preform in the Abbey Theatre

Well done to the 5th year DFTS class who performed their ACT3 (Applied Creative Task) on the Peacock Stage at the end of last term.

Students worked for 8 weeks under the guidance and facilitation of the Abbey's Phil Kingston to produce an originally devised performance piece based on their viewing of Sean O Caseys 'The Plough and the Stars.' 

Students were then tasked with reimagining the plot, characters and setting in a more modern context and researched and linked the play to more recent historical events such as the 2023 Dublin riots and 2026 Fuel Protest. 

1st and 2nd year Drama students were the DFTS students audience, and they made some fantastic and insightful observations in our Q and A after.
