*'Her Story' - Facilitator: Kathleen Warner Yeates - 'Flying Turtle Theatre Company'
This small initiative is based around the concept of forgotten female voices in history - written/dramatic/visual pieces can be created around this theme either following a fictional or actual interpretation of the chosen figure/story. Kathleen Warner Yeats will mentor teachers who engage with the project. Ms Fallon will coordinate the project for the College.
*-Collapsing Horse Theatre Company - Dan Colley – is working on a visual installation based around the 25th anniversary of the ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Ms O Higgins will coordinate the project for the College.
-Gaiety School Acting - Documentary - 'The Avenue' – hope to work with Ms Fallon and the arts programme on a short film based around the individuals living in the Avenue adjacent to the school, focusing on the perceptions and attitudes of the residents/students of the area. This initiative will be dependent on our success at accessing funding.
Larkin Youth Theatre – Carol Rooney will direct the Youth Theatre and devise a show based on the theme of ‘bullying’ with Youth Theatre members. The LYT will put the show on in the Sean O Casey Theatre in February 2018.
Gospel Choir – This initiative, brought to the College by Fr Gerry Clarke of Gardiner Street parish will develop into the Gardiner Street Youth Choir.
The initiative is kindly funded by Croke Park Community Fund. Ms Creighton and Ms M. Fallon are leading the choir.
Christmas Tree - our Christmas Tree celebration for the school and local community is kindly funded by Dublin City Council.
