Child Talks 2025: Young Voices Making a Difference

On World Children’s Day, students all over Ireland tuned in to Child Talks 2025, a special event where young people shared their ideas about how to make the world better for everyone. The event took place at the Helix in Dublin and was streamed live to schools across the country.

This year’s speakers talked about some really important issues, including homelessness, girls in STEM, safe places for teenagers to hang out, online safety and how youth services help young people.

Mustapha’s Inspiring Story:

One of the speakers was Mustapha, who is 17 years old and a 5th year student in Larkin who loves technology and creativity. He moved to Ireland from South Africa and has since become very involved in youth groups like Foróige, SpunOut and the National Youth Council of Ireland.

Mustapha  spoke about his journey of finding confidence in a new country and how using technology, from coding to building drones has helped him express himself and inspire others. His message encouraged students to believe in themselves, try new things and use their talents to make a positive difference.
