DCC and City Connects Sports Leadership Programme Kicks off!

The first session of the DCC City Connects Sports' Leadership Programme took place last Wednesday. The 3rd year students involved in the Programme learned the basics of coaching soccer to young people- specifically 'football for all' or coaching for inclusion.

In the coming weeks students will learn to coach young people in Boxing, Athletics and Rugby.

The skills learned over the 4 weeks will be put into practice when students will organise a sports blitz involving the local primary schools.

The programme will end with the presentation of Sports Leadership Certificates to all the students. This may be the beginning of successful careers in Sports Coaching. Well done to all the students in the participating schools: Larkin CC, Mount Carmel, Henrietta st, St. Joseph's, St. Laurence O'Toole's, Marino, O'Connell's and Rosmini.
