Larkin Students Join Macnas for Galway Halloween Parade

Five talented Larkin students: Michelle Strzala, Sofia Kliuieva, Jodie Byrne, Daniella Adomaviciute and Belle Boss, had the incredible opportunity to perform with Galway based theatre company Macnas in their spectacular Halloween Parade.

Over six weeks, the students rehearsed with Matthew Williamson and young people from the Swan Youth Centre, developing their puppeteering skills and learning to handle large scale props, including snakes used in the performance.

They spent the bank holiday weekend in Galway for final rehearsals before taking part in Sunday’s parade, which drew an estimated 80,000 spectators. The event was a huge success and an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Special thanks go to Ms O’Higgins and the NEIC Programme Implementation Board for making this collaboration possible and to Ms Shiggins for accompanying the students on their trip.

Well done to all the students for representing Larkin so brilliantly at The Big Scream NEIC Halloween Festival and with Macnas in Galway.
