Past Pupil Charlie Carroll Acknowledged in DCU as one of the First National Youth Volunteering Portfolio Holders
We were delighted to be invited to DCU today to celebrate Youth Volunteering.
A huge congratulations to past student Charlie Carroll, who was recognised alongside Jayla Leigh King from Mount Carmel as one of the first two National Youth Volunteer Portfolio holders in the country. Their dedication to volunteering and service has played a significant role in supporting their pathways to higher education.
Charlie is now studying Early Childhood Education in DCU, and along with her PLC from Cathal Brugha, the Localise My Volunteering Portfolio was instrumental in helping her achieve this milestone.
The event highlighted the powerful impact of volunteering in supporting access to education, enhancing employment opportunities, and developing lifelong skills.
We hope to see many more Larkin students progress to further education through this pathway, as so many already contribute through volunteering within and beyond our school community.
Congratulations to Derek and Harry from Localise, and to the team at DCU for their vision and commitment in making this initiative a reality. Thank you for the incredible work you do with our students. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in supporting young people from diverse backgrounds to access further education.
