Transition Year Trip to Barcelona 2025

Our Transition Year students recently enjoyed an action packed and unforgettable trip to Barcelona and the surrounding region, filled with learning, fun and lifelong memories.

Day 1 began with a guided walking tour through the historic center of Barcelona, where students explored the iconic Barcelona Cathedral and the bustling Las Ramblas. After a day immersed in culture, they enjoyed some well earned downtime by the hotel pool and a scenic evening walk around Salou.

Day 2 brought thrills and excitement at PortAventura Park. The students had a fantastic time braving the rides, with plenty of laughter and a few screams echoing through the park.

On day 3, the group set off on a catamaran trip from Cambrils, cruising along the beautiful Spanish coastline. After some relaxing time in the sun and a refreshing swim, they made their way to the historic city of Tarragona. There, history came alive as they explored remarkable archaeological sites, including the Roman Amphitheater, Circo Romano, Roman walls, Casa Castellarnau and Casa Canals. The day was perfectly capped off with a well deserved ice cream break and a peaceful evening walk in Salou, just in time to catch the stunning sunset.

What a final day in Barcelona for our TY students. They had a jam-packed schedule, starting with a scenic ride on the Telefèric del Port cable car, taking in breathtaking views over the city. Next stop: shopping at the Las Arenas shopping centre, followed by stunning panoramic views from the rooftop skywalk terrace. They then explored the fascinating CosmoCaixa Science Museum before heading to the airport for their journey home.
This trip was a perfect mix of cultural enrichment, adventure and bonding. A huge thank you to all the staff and students who made it such a memorable experience!
