First Year Students Shine at Career Project Exhibition
The Early Learning Initiative (ELI) was delighted to welcome 61 first year students from Larkin and Marino College to NCI for an inspiring project exhibition. This event, part of the NEIC funded Education Guidance Programme, provided students with a platform to showcase their research and presentation skills while exploring potential career paths.
Working in groups, students selected a career of interest and conducted in depth research into the necessary skills, qualifications and training required for success in that field. They then presented their findings to an audience, demonstrating their ability to communicate effectively and think critically about their future careers.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of corporate volunteers from ELI’s valued partner organisations. Representatives from Glenveagh, Central Bank of Ireland, EXL and Arthur Cox acted as project judges, carefully listening to students’ presentations and engaging them in discussions about their chosen careers. Their involvement was instrumental in building students’ confidence, enhancing their presentation skills and fostering connections between the students and the professional world.
This initiative underpins the importance of career exploration at an early stage, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about their futures. The collaboration between educational institutions and corporate partners continues to be a vital component in bridging the gap between education and the workforce.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to support and inspire our students!
