Students Inspired by Guest Speaker Tishé Fatunbi

Students recently had the exciting opportunity to take part in a special “Who Am I? / How Am I?” session, featuring guest speaker Tishé Fatunbi. The event, held in collaboration with our school was led by student interviewers Asmin and Kayla, who did an excellent job guiding the discussion.

During the session, Tishé encouraged students to take initiative in pursuing their goals rather than waiting for opportunities to come to them. She shared her own journey of creating opportunities, including co-founding Arinola Theatre with friends, and highlighted the importance of believing in your own ideas.

Tishé, an actor, writer and theatre maker from Blanchardstown, spoke about her work bringing immigrant stories to Irish stages. Her debut play, Ololufe, enjoyed a successful run at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2024 and is now being developed into a feature length screenplay through Screen Ireland’s Perspectives Programme. She also spoke about her experiences working with a range of theatre companies and participating in development programmes that support artists of colour.

The session also included a live graphic recording by artist Fiona O’Neill, capturing key moments and ideas from the conversation. Students were left feeling inspired and motivated to take charge of their own futures and creative paths.

This event was made possible with the support of Clinch and is part of an ongoing effort to bring meaningful learning experiences to students.
